The members of the Holiday Painting Co., women's
bowling team apparently wasn't content just to
BE seen at the 1973 National WIBC Tournament in
They wanted to MAKE a scene.
At least that's the way it would appear judging
by their uniforms.
The five women each were wearing a
brightly-colored blouse with a matching wig.
The color scheme was red, purple, kelly green,
royal blue and bright gold. And for good
measure, each team member carried her ball in an
over-sized paint bucket bearing the sponsor's
Since Las Vegas has a reputation as a flashy
town, they wanted something that would fit in
with the tempo of the tournament.
The Holiday Painting team was one of some 100
Memphians attending the tournament.
