MEMPHIANS ADD COLOR TO WIBC

The members of the Holiday Painting Co., women's bowling team apparently wasn't content just to BE seen at the 1973 National WIBC Tournament in Las Vegas.

They wanted to MAKE a scene.

At least that's the way it would appear judging by their uniforms.

The five women each were wearing a brightly-colored blouse with a matching wig.  The color scheme was red, purple, kelly green, royal blue and bright gold.  And for good measure, each team member carried her ball in an over-sized paint bucket bearing the sponsor's name.

Since Las Vegas has a reputation as a flashy town, they wanted something that would fit in with the tempo of the tournament.

The Holiday Painting team was one of some 100 Memphians attending the tournament.

They weren't hard to spot on the lanes.
